Ovid Elucian Flowers was the 5th child of Ovid Earl Flowers and Florence Faye Dunham Flowers.

He was born in Crowville, Franklin Parish, Louisiana on 21 June 1930. He joined the Air Force when he was 17.

Ovid was stationed at Scott Air Force with William Henneke, Jr. when he met William Henneke's sister, Glenda Ruth Henneke.

He Married Glenda Ruth Henneke on 25 June 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri

After Ovid and Glenda were married, Ovid got transfered to Cheyenne, Wyoming where their first born son was born.

Ovid and Glenda were married for 18 years and then divorced.

Ovid then married a second time for a number of years and then divorced.

After divorceing his 2nd wife he then married Betha Butler. Ovid and Betha remained married until his death.
